Immersion training in Bamako
From September 9 to 17, the Director of the Chiaka Sidibe hotel school in Bamako, Mr. Khoudja, and a teacher, Ms. Sow, were welcomed by the Lycée Technique et Hôtelier de Monaco for an immersion training.Their training is part of the memorandum of understanding signed last March, on the occasion of the 2nd Mali-Monaco Bilateral Commission, and covers the period 2019-2021. Its objective is to strengthen the knowledge of the staff and students of the Chiaka Sidibé Hotel School in the areas of cooking, service and accommodation through cooperation with the Lycée Technique et Hôtelier de Monaco. Mali has a very young population which very often does not have access to quality training, especially in the tourism, hotel and restaurant sectors, in a country where the unemployment rate of young people is estimated at 18% (source UNDP).The Chiaka Sidibé hotel school opened in September 2015 and was created by Mr. Mossadeck Bally, Consul of Monaco in Mali and Administrator of the school. It offers training to young people in cooking, room services and marketing, baking, pastry making and since the start of the 2018 school year in room service and reception. It should be noted that the Princely Government is also funding, over the period 2019-2021, 56 scholarships for young people from SOS Children's Village Mali so that they can benefit from this high-performance training since 90% of graduates find a employment at the end of their year of training.
